Share your memory
In the “Chronicles of Terror,” we make the voice of witnesses and victims of totalitarianism heard, but we would also like to see their faces. We invite everyone to join us in building our site!
We enhance our testimony database with photographs, documents, letters, memoirs and other memorabilia concerning the witnesses and other people mentioned in testimonies. We are interested in all materials related to places and events described in these testimonies. Personal histories of people have even greater impact when accompanied by private mementos and photographs.
For this reason the Institute has launched a public campaign – a collection under the banner “Share memory”. We ask all Poles in the country and abroad to share mementos from their private collections. After digitalization, they will enrich our portal. We hope to collect resources invaluable not only for scholars, but also for all who would like to learn about and understand the tragic fates of people who got into the wheels of a totalitarian machine.
If you have found your ancestors, relatives, friends or neighbors in the testimonies; if you could provide additional information about their fate; if you have materials which could supplement their histories – please do not hesitate to contact us and share memory!
