What do the mass graves tell us?

Every grave brings sad thoughts to mind. We know that it contains the remains of someone who was dear to someone else, and perhaps long mourned. How much more the mass graves tell us, of which there are so many after the present war! They dot our Polish land and make us stop frequently to think of those who rest there and to honor their memory. The mass graves speak of the sacrifice [of] the lives of our heroes who stood up to the enemy. They died en masse, as the enemy murdered them by the hundreds and thousands every single day. Rifle bullets killed entire groups, and in a moment new mass graves appeared. These graves make us, the little ones, learn how to fight and die for Poland. They tell us not to be afraid of death, if that is what our homeland requires.
