My memories of German crimes

I remember. I was still a little girl when my heart started pounding with fear and tears flowed from my eyes. I saw Poles being led out of prison in handcuffs, their faces pale and haggard; they went proudly to their death. They were surrounded by German gendarmes with weapons at the ready. The gallows on MÅ‚ynarska Street were waiting for the innocent convicts.

The crowd of people forced to watch the execution was silent, with hatred in their hearts. They were waiting for the sentence to be carried out.

The dead and cold bodies were placed on carts and taken into the fields. They were buried in a common grave. I ran home crying and grieving. I will never forget that moment.
