My most memorable moment from the occupation
What I remember best is the German invasion of Kielce. When the Germans were about to enter Kielce, they bombed and burned the houses. They abused Poles, they kicked them cruelly and killed them. All the streets and cobblestones were covered with Polish blood.
My daddy was in town at the time. The Germans thought he was a partisan. They took daddy to a camp and kept him there for two months. A thousand thoughts ran through my mind. I thought that they might murder my dearest daddy, hang him or burn him in a furnace like so many others. I prayed to God for my daddy to come back as soon as possible.
