Warsaw, 12 December 1945. Investigating Judge Alicja Germasz heard the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the significance of the oath, the witness was sworn and testified as follows:

On 4 November 1945, on behalf of the Municipal Funeral Service, I carried out an exhumation at Racławicka Street in the Mokotów fort. The place was shown to us by a fort caretaker whose name I do not know, but which I can submit on demand.
The caretaker informed us that during the Warsaw Uprising, the Germans threw living people and those previously executed into a pit dug at the spot, and then covered them with earth. After the exhumation, I determined that there were 19 well-preserved human corpses in the pit. They were in three graves. The exhumation was carried out due to the intervention of a mother who was looking for the body of her son. I can provide her name on demand.
I would like to add that the majority of the corpses had their tongues out, which is indicative of death by suffocation.
At that the report was concluded and read out.
