Warsaw, 5 April 1947. The member of the District Commission for the Investigation of German Crimes, Judge Halina Wereńko, interviewed the person specified below as an unsworn witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations, the witness testified as follows:

I have worked as a janitor in the Academy of Political Sciences for 20 years. During the Warsaw Uprising I stayed in the area of the APS. On the first day of the uprising, the German troops occupying it left and two small SS units came from Grochów.
I don’t know the names of the commanders. The unit did not take part in the action.
Starting from 4 August 1944, soldiers from these units looted flats in Staszic Housing Estate and Lubecki Housing Estate. They packed the brought things in chests.
I presume that the things were sent to one collection point, because the soldiers were forbidden to taken anything for themselves.
At this the report was concluded and read out.
