My memories of the German occupation
In the morning the Germans arrived in cars and surrounded the village. Some people were running away into the field, while others stayed in the village. Some Germans were walking from door to door, looking for men. When they found any, they took [them] to the cars. When they took the men from the houses, the elderly and the children cried. The Germans split them into two groups – one group went to Kalinka and the other stayed, and they beat up the people who were gathered. Women and children brought some bread for the men in the cars. As they were walking away from the car, people in the village screamed and cried.
A roundup of people started in Kalinka. When the Germans were chasing people from Kalinka to Zaliszcze, women and children followed them, screaming and crying, and the Germans beat the prisoners. There were cars waiting for them in Zaliszcze. From Zaliszcze and Kalinka they were taken to Wisznice, and from Wisznice to Biała, where they were jailed. As they were taken there, people in the village cried and screamed. After a few days some people came back and some were shot in Wisznice.
