My memories of the past war with Germany
When the war between Germany and Poland broke out in 1939, a Polish plane, that is a seaplane, came down on Siemień lake near Parczew. The airmen hid it in the reeds and covered it with branches so that no enemy planes would see it. However, they couldn’t hide it from them. A German plane made various passes until it tracked it down. The enemy was flying over our homes, circling over the lake, firing incendiary ammunition, dropping incendiary bombs. It continued to fire and drop bombs for two days until it hit the hidden Polish plane on the fourth day and burned it along with the airmen.
