My wartime experiences

When Germany entered Poland they took out their anger on the Poles. Various things happened during the war. During the German occupation, I saw 12 Poles hanged by German executioners when I walked through the market square. I remember when two German cars came to the village and took 15 men to Majdanek. They were released after six weeks, but only 13 came back. Two had died. [I remember] another event, when the Germans burned and destroyed the village of Makoszka a week before they retreated. The rest of the young and healthy men were taken off to Majdanek and everyone was killed some time later. The Germans transported Poles to various camps such as Majdanek, Auschwitz etc. Germany was Poland’s terrible executioner.
