My experiences during the war

Plan:
1. War breaks out.
2. Poles are deported to Russia.
3. A happy return to the Homeland.

On 1 September 1939, war broke out with the Germans. My daddy was called up and took part in this war, from which he luckily returned home and stayed with our family until 1940. In February 1940, we were deported to Siberia, where my parents had to work very hard.

In 1942, my daddy was called up into the Polish Army. For me, saying goodbye to daddy was extremely sad, but at the same time I was bursting with pride that my daddy would increase the ranks of the Polish Army and help regain our beloved Independent Poland. While we were in Siberia, I went to a Polish school.

On 23 March 1946, we left Siberia for our homeland, which we missed terribly. All the Poles were overjoyed that after many long years spent in exile we would finally be returning to our Homeland. The Polish youth, who would now be able to go to Polish schools in their mother country, were particularly joyous.
