My most important wartime experience
It was 22 June 1941, the Germans were going to attack Russia. During the day, German planes flew towards Russia, and tanks and cars moved that way. One day the German planes and Soviet planes encountered each other in the air and a dogfight started, three Soviet planes and one German plane were downed. When the planes were fighting, we were sitting in the shelter. Later, when many Germans passed us by, some Germans came to us. They set up a radio, listened, then left. The Soviets started to fight near the Bug River.
