Coastal area, wooden barracks, 280 people in each one. Lice, no underwear.

Russians (mostly). Few Poles. Intelligentsia – 10 percent, low moral standing. Russians were favored.

Working 12 hours in the cold; high quotas. Bad food (oats), no clothes. No social life.
7. Attitude of the NKVD towards Poles:
The NKVD inflicted punishments, beat us, and locked us up [illegible]. No news about Poland, negative information from the authorities.

High mortality, poor medical help.
