Upon the request made by Krzysztof Bussold, I declare as follows:
As a member of the “Żegota” Council to Aid Jews during the Second World War, I often had to look for very brave people who would risk their lives to enter the grounds of the ghetto through various secret paths and smuggle the elderly and children to the Aryan side.
Making use of underground contacts, I was often aided by Mrs Stanisława Bussold, a midwife and administrator of a building in the Praga district. One of such trusted people was Paweł Bussold (son of Józef), who selflessly risked his life to smuggle adults and children to the Aryan side. In this manner he rescued, among others, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl (today named Elżbieta Ficowska), and handed her over to Mrs. Stanisława [Bussold].
