On this day, 17 March 1949, in Radom, T. Badowski, Assistant Public Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of the District Court in Radom with headquarters in Radom, based on Article 20 of the provisions introducing the Code of Criminal Procedure interviewed the person named below as an unsworn witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations, the witness testified as follows:

My parents had a house – a villa at 24 Sienkiewicz Street – with an orchard behind it. In December of 1940, we were expelled from this home, which was then taken by a German notable. We moved back into our house in November 1944. Until May 1944, as I recall, we did not receive any payment for the rent of the house and garden. In the spring of 1944, when my father got a demand for outstanding payments for the real estate at 24 Sienkiewicza Street, I went to the district office with a request to settle the rent. There, I talked with a certain German – currently I don’t know whether he was a civilian or in uniform – demanding due payment. However, my request had no effect for the time being. Some two or three months after my visit to the district office, the Gestapo officer came to visit us and brought 1,200 or 1,500 zlotys for the rental of the house and garden. It was the only money that my parents got during the whole period of the occupation for the lease of the house and garden. For all this time we did not receive any fruit from the garden, with the exception of one year when the caretaker brought us a basket of about five to ten kilograms of fruit. Every year our garden yielded several square meters of fruit.
As I recall, the railing in front of our house at 24 Sienkiewicza Street was removed a few months before the arrival of the Red Army at the Vistula River. Who lived in our house, I don’t know. I did not know Böttcher.
