In Kielce, on 22 December 1947, at 8:20 AM, I, Stanisław Gałka from the Investigative Department at the Citizens’ Militia station in Kielce, acting pursuant to the recommendation of the prosecutor of the District Court in Kielce, issued on the basis of Article 20 of the provisions introducing the Code of Criminal Procedure of 16 December 1947 (file no. ŻN 30/47), while observing the formalities listed in Article 135, 140, 258, and 259 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, in the presence of reporter Wacław Kwiatkowski from the Investigative Department at the Citizens’ Militia station, whom I have instructed of the obligation to certify the compliance of the Protocol with the course of procedure by signing, heard the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations, the witness testified as follows:

Regarding the present case, I have the following knowledge. In 1943, on 15 October, my husband Antoni Rogala was summoned to the Gestapo and detained in the prison in Kielce. As far as I know, my husband apparently had a gun and belonged to an underground organization. He stayed in prison for six weeks, but there was no permission [given] to visit him. On 18 November 1943, my husband was shot in Kielce on Urzędnicza Street, at the site of a former brickyard. The next day, I heard from people that he was shot, which the Germans announced through loudspeakers, and there were posters on which the name of my husband was displayed. I heard from Stanisław Pobierajski, who was in prison with my husband, that the prisoners were tortured to such an extent that they were brought to the prison cells on stretchers. [Both] the beatings and executions were carried out by Gestapo officers, whose surnames I cannot give. My husband’s [body] was transported to the local cemetery. I was present at the exhumation and identified my husband.
