Stanisława Sybicka, née Walczak, born on 12 April 1910.
On 13 April 1940, I was arrested because of my husband, who was the Chief of the State Police. He was taken captive in Brześć nad Bugiem in 1939. I was deported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Akmolinsk Oblast, to the kolkhoz in Novo Berezovka, where I worked in field brigades. I earned a living selling things.
The local authorities were really hostile towards us.
In August 1941, following the amnesty, I was transferred to do forced labor in the railroad areas of the Akmolinsk-Kartaly line. On 11 January 1942, I went to Buzuluk to join the Women’s Auxiliary Service in the army, where I was admitted on 9 February. I was assigned to the Reserve Center of the Women’s Auxiliary Service in Guzar. In March, I went with the Center to Tehran, where I completed an 8-week Polish Red Cross course, and I worked in civilian hospital no. 1 as a nurse until December. In December 1942, I was assigned to the military hospital no. 3 in Quizil-Ribat, where I have worked since as a paramedic.
