On 7 November 1947, in Końskie, the Końskie Branch of the [District] Commission for the Investigation of German Crimes, represented by K. Gwarek, interviewed the person named below as an unsworn witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations, the witness testified as follows:

In the autumn of 1942, before All Saints’ Day, standing in my yard one day, I saw three German gendarmes from Radoszyce enter my house. A few minutes later, Wincenty Sobań, who lived with me, rushed out of the house and started to run away into the field. He ran about a hundred meters, but was wounded by the gendarme’s bullet; they called him back, so he returned, in front of the barn, where they finished him off with a gunshot. I don’t know the reason why Sobań was killed. On the same day, the gendarmes took away the killed man’s brother, Stanisław Sobań, who was sent to Auschwitz and killed there. Two years later – in October, as far as I remember – the gendarmerie from Radoszyce came to the house of the Sobań family again; they took Stefana Sobań’s brother and shot him behind the barn. I don’t know what he was killed for, either.
