On 17 October 1947, in Końskie, the Końskie Branch of the District Commission for the Investigation of German Crimes, represented by a member of the Commission, K. Gwarek, interviewed the person named below as an unsworn witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations, the witness testified as follows:

All I know is that in November 1943 – I think it was 23 November – my son Bronisław Czyż was arrested by the gendarmerie in Końskie; he was a moulder, living in Stary Młyn, Końskie commune, and worked in Mim’s [?] factory. I don’t know what my son was arrested for. A cleaner from the gendarmerie [station] later told me that my son had been killed the day after his arrest at the German gendarmerie station in Końskie. This cleaner, who is dead now, said that she had seen my son’s dead body with the face battered as a result of beating.
