I met the accused Maria Mandl in 1941 at Ravensbrück. During this time she was serving as a guard at the camp penitentiary. One time I saw her kick an old woman who had fainted with her boots in order to bring her to. She probably killed her because the woman wasn’t moving anymore afterwards.
The accused abused female prisoners on purpose by checking whether they were wearing undergarments in the winter. She would often strip women naked in the Appellplatz, checking what they had on. She always walked around with a whip and if anyone got close to her, she’d beat them without exception. Mandl’s methods can also be attested to by Elżbieta Walach, living in Leszno (Greater Poland), Narutowicza Street 5.
I have testified.
The report was read out and signed.
