The witness testifies: I was detained in the concentration camp in Ravensbrück from 31 May 1942 until the end of the war. I was in block 17 and others. During that time, until October 1943, the position of Oberaufseherin [head overseer] was held by a German woman, Maria Mandl. She had a brutal and sadistic nature. This brutality manifested itself mainly in constant verbal abuse and frequent tormenting of the prisoners which involved beating and kicking them.
I witnessed this abuse, although she never hit me personally.
I cannot give the names of the victims abused by Maria Mandl.
The suspect’s behavior stood out among other German functionaries of the camp in a negative way.
In October 1943, I think, the suspect was transferred to the camp in Auschwitz.
The report was read out before signing and concluded.
