On 12 October 1942, my daughter Janina, married name Szlajermacher, born on 7 November 1913, a structural technician’s wife, who hasn’t yet returned from German captivity, was executed by the Germans at the gallows in Rożki near Radom. Two days later, on 14 October 1942, my son, Mieczysław Dąbrówka, born on 16 May 1919 in Radom, a locksmith at the Arms Factory, died too, hanged by the Germans near the factory just mentioned.
The circumstances in which my children were executed were as follows: my daughter Janina, married name Szlajermacher, left home on 19 September 1942. I don’t know what happened to her afterwards. I learned that she was one of those whom the Germans had executed in Rożki on 12 October 1942. I didn’t see her body, but a few weeks after the execution I received notification from the gendarmerie that my daughter and my son had died on 12 and 14 October 1942. Some time later the Germans reclaimed this written notification.
My son, Mieczysław, was arrested on 15 September 1942 at his workplace at the Arms Factory. He was in prison for about three weeks. On 14 October 1942, my late cousin told me that he had seen my son hanging from the gallows near the Arms Factory in Radom.
Having been shown photographs of the people executed on the gallows in Rożki and in Radom, the witness testified as follows:
Among the people hanged at the train station in Rożki I recognize my daughter Janina. She is first from the right, in the photograph marked as "Rożki I". Among those who were hanged near the Arms Factory my son is seventh from the right or ninth from the left. I recognize my son too.
The report was read out.
