As to the death of 10 hostages in Nowa Wieś, I know that in May 1943, a truck with hostages and Germans arrived in Nowa Wieś. They went to the forester’s lodge, built a gallows there and ordered that some pits be dug. I wanted to leave, but it was too late, as we were being closely guarded by the torturers. When the gallows was erected, 10 hostages were placed under it and the other 10 were ordered to fasten nooses around these people’s necks. When the sentence was carried out, the Germans loaded everything onto the truck and left in the direction of Kamyk. I would like to add that I didn’t recognize any of the unfortunates, because allegedly they had been brought in from Lubliniec.
