On 31 May 1947 in Zwoleń, the District Commission for the Investigation of German Crimes with its seat in Radom, this in the person of lawyer Marian Marszałek, acting pursuant to Article 20 of the provisions introducing the Code of Criminal Procedure, interviewed the person mentioned hereunder as a witness, without taking an oath. Having advised the witness of the criminal liability for making false declarations, of the provisions of Article 106 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and of the significance of the oath, lawyer Marian Marszałek took an oath therefrom pursuant to the provisions of Article 254.1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, following which the witness testified as follows:

I have been living in Zwoleń since my birth. I was here throughout the German occupation. In 1944, they arrested my husband, Walenty. He was executed in Zwoleń on 19 June [19]44. Following the liberation, I had him exhumed and recognized his body. I don’t know what he was arrested for. I wasn’t present at his execution. I know from what people have told me that he was killed because he was a member of an organization. The Germans read out something to this effect before killing him.
The Gestapo also arrested my brother-in-law, Aleksander Krawczyk, and had him murdered in Leokadiów. At the time, 42 people were murdered there. Their sentences were read out to them, too. I wasn’t present at the execution in Leokadiów either. This tragedy was due in no small measure to the Volksdeutschers, who were usually Gestapo informers. They all fled along with the Germans.
