In Wielgomłyny on this day, 19 September 1948, at 3.30 p.m., functionary Mariusz Bijak from the Citizens’ Militia Station in Wielgomłyny, with the participation of reporter Józef Maj, a militiaman from the same station, heard the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the wording of Article 140 of the Penal Code, the witness testified as follows:
Name and surname Józef Polit
Parents’ names | Edmund and Czesława |
Age | 26 years old |
Place of birth | Wielgomłyny |
Religious affiliation | Roman Catholic |
Occupation | farmer |
Place of residence | Wielgomłyny, Radomsko district |
I know that one night in August 1943 (I don’t remember the exact date), when I was at home, I was notified to warn a partisan group who were coming from Krzętowo to Wielgomłyny that the Germans had set up an ambush for them.
I would like to state that I didn’t manage to reach that group with the warning, as already on the way I heard shots and was therefore forced to go back home.
On the morning of the following day, when I went there, I found three bodies: two brothers by the name of Lamkamer, residents of Przedbórz, and Gajewski, also a resident of Przedbórz.
I would like to add that these persons had their arms and legs broken.
I have testified to all that I know.
