Shooting and deportations.

The victims were brought in from:

Approximately 227 people were shot. The victims were brought to Czarny Las by Czerwony Krzyż from the prisons in Sandomierz and Opatów, while in the townships of Strzegom, Pliskowola, Łęg, Strzegomek, Osiek, Dzięki, and Osieczko the executions took place on the spot. The following were deported: 500 Jews and 8 Poles who haven’t returned to date – we had news from Auschwitz that they perished there.

The surnames of those who were brought in from the prisons haven’t been determined. The following residents of Strzegom were shot:

It is unknown.

5. Who carried out the execution (gendarmes, Gestapo men, SS men, policemen, the Wehrmacht)?

Gendarmes and Gestapo men.

6. Are the surnames of the perpetrators known (provide the surnames if known)?

No.

7. Were the corpses burnt or destroyed otherwise?

Probably in Czarny Las.

8. Where were the corpses buried (provide the exact location)?

In Strzegom: at the execution site, in a field; in other townships: at the parish cemetery in Osiek and Wiązownica, in single graves.

9. Description of the place of burial (graves, dimensions, estimated number of victims buried in one grave):

In Czarny Las the grave of the executed victims was destroyed without a trace, in Strzegom nine people are buried in a common grave, and the remaining victims are buried separately at the cemetery.

10. Were the corpses exhumed, were they officially reinterred (report)? If “yes” to the latter, then where?

No.

11. Are there any grounds for conducting their exhumation in the future?

No.

On 25 October 1945, the contents of the above questionnaire were officially confirmed by the head of Osiek commune, Jan Wiącek, with the Municipal Court in Staszów.
