In Suchedniów on this day, 6 July 1948, at 2.00 p.m., I, Ignacy Kołda from the Citizens’ Militia Station in Suchedniów, acting on the basis of Article 20 of the provisions introducing the Code of Criminal Procedure, observing the formal requirements set forward in Articles 235-240, 258 and 259 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, with the participation of reporter Alojzy Kocela, whom I have informed of the obligation to attest to the conformity of the report with the actual course of the procedure by his own signature, have heard the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the right to refuse to testify for the reasons set forward in Article 104 of the CCP and of the criminal liability for making false declarations, pursuant to Article 140 of the Penal Code, the witness testified as follows:

With regard to the matter at hand I can provide the following information: I don’t remember the day. In February 1942, around 25, at 6.30 a.m., I was at my home, asleep. Suddenly I heard shots in the forest in Góra Baranowska. Terrified, I looked out of the window in the direction of the Góra Baranowska forest and on the fringe of the forest I saw German gendarmes standing near the trees. At that time I didn’t know what was going on and what the Germans were up to.
On the same day when I was at Bronisława Lorens’ place in Rejów I learned that German gendarmes were searching for a man who had escaped during the execution. The gendarmes searched Lorens’ property very thoroughly, including the barn. In their exchange with Lorens, they repeated, "you are hiding the bandit" and they threatened to burn the village and kill its inhabitants if they found someone who wasn’t the village’s resident. But they didn’t find anyone during their search. After the search they left in their cars. Some of them went in the direction of Kielce and some in the direction of Skarżysko. It follows from the above that when the gendarmes were carrying out some execution, one of those whom they were to shoot managed to escape, and they were trying to catch him.
I wish to add that during the search at Lorens’ place the gendarmes said that the man whom they were looking for was young, tall and slim and that he didn’t have any hat on. The gendarmes came from the side of Starachowice. I didn’t know the gendarmes. Nor do I know the people whom the gendarmes brought.
At this the report was read out and signed.
