In Bugaj on this day, 26 November 1948, at 7:00 PM, I, Officer Kwiecień from the Citizens’ Militia station in Bliżyn, acting in accordance with the instructions of Citizen Deputy Prosecutor of the Fourth Regional Prosecutor’s Office of the District Court in Radom, this dated on 25 August 1948, L. 825/48/2 issued on the basis of Article 20 of the provisions introducing the Code of Criminal Procedure, with the participation of reporter Stefan Baran from the Citizens’ Militia station in Bliżyn, whom I informed about his obligation to attest by his own signature to the conformity of the Protocol with the actual course of the procedure, interviewed the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the significance of the oath, the right to refuse to testify for reasons specified in Article 104 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and of the criminal liability for making false declarations in accordance with Article 140 of the Penal Code, the witness was sworn and testified as follows:

I am aware of the following facts regarding this matter. During the German occupation, I was in the town of Bugaj, Bliżyn commune, and regarding the executions of Poles by Germans in the woods near the village of Bór-Osiedle, in 1940 during the month of February, I know the following facts. On 12 February 1940, the executions of Poles from the village of Bór- Osiedle, took place in the forest of Bliżyn commune. It lasted for five days without a break, and after one day of rest, shooting began again for one day, on 18 February 1940. Every day I saw the German gendarmes bringing on average eight trucks of people from Skarżysko- Kam[ienna] and from the secondary school. In one vehicle there were roughly 10 people including women, children and the elderly, and monks, who were then unloaded from the car onto the main road in Skarżysko-Końskie in the town of Bugaj, next to the railway stop of Wołów, which is 70 meters away from my house. And after unloading these Poles from the car, each Pole was escorted individually by a German, and five minutes after taking those Poles into the forest, you heard volleys of shots from rifles, and then later, revolver shots.
A few days later, after this situation, I went to the crime scene, where I saw parts of human bodies scattered in the woods and spilled human blood, a whole bunch of empty bullet casings from a rifle and handguns, and trees cut down by bullets. Also, I can add that when they unloaded people [from the car] onto the road, they stopped road traffic in order to hide from bystanders the [lethal] actions of Germans towards Poles, and I saw how they carried a few killed people in sheets on a stretcher to the pit, which was located in the forest nearby Bór-Osiedle, and there they were buried along with the executed.
