Kielce, 9 March 1948, 11.00 a.m. Stefan Młodawski from the Criminal Investigation Section of the Citizens’ Militia Station in Kielce, on the instruction of the Prosecutor from the District Court in Kielce, with the participation of court reporter Marian Poniewierka, heard the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the wording of Article 140 of the Penal Code, the witness testified as follows:
Name and surname | Stefania Szymczyk |
Parents’ names | Jan and Antonina |
Age | 37 years old |
Place of birth | Mójcza |
Religious affiliation | Roman Catholic |

Place of residence | Kielce, Świerczewskiego Street 33 |
I worked | in the kitchen of the Cultural Center from 14 August 1940 until the capitulation |
of Germany.
I heard that having entered Kielce, the Germans set up a hospital for German soldiers and officers in the Center, and that it was operational until 1940.
When the hospital was removed, a German military staff, headed by a General, came to the Center. There wasn’t any camp in the Cultural Center.
The Germans would bring the Jews from the Ghetto for work until they were deported from the Ghetto. Then the work was performed by the Poles who lived in town and received payment for their work.
At this point the report was concluded, read out and signed.
