I lived at 1 Maja Street next to the Jewish quarter. I noticed that in the Ghetto there were Jews of Polish and German nationality. About 20,000 people lived in the Ghetto.
The prisoners usually worked outside the camp, namely in the Kadzielnia quarries and in the Ludwików and Granat factories.
There was an infirmary in the camp. Some people died of typhoid and other epidemic diseases. I heard that doctors and also Judenrat elder Lewi were executed, and that these executions were held outside the camp, in the Jewish cemetery, and that the victims were shot. At first the corpses were buried in the Jewish cemetery, and later in a special square within the quarter.
Currently, there is a residential area on the premises of the former Jewish quarter. The camp was run by Hauptmann Gaier and other Gestapo men.
At this point, the report was concluded, read out and signed.
