On 5 July 1942, my husband was arrested by the Gestapo at Bracka Street in Warsaw together with about 50 other Poles, all members of the "Pani" Club. Among those arrested there were two brothers by the name of Baczyński and Rogodziński, an industrialist. They were all taken to Pawiak prison. Due to overcrowding, on 17 July 1942 the prisoners were sent to Auschwitz concentration camp. On 27 August, my husband died in the said camp. According to the daughter of Janina Galinowska from Warsaw (Nowogrodzka Street 7) and citizen Olga Sołłohubowa, residing in Bydgoszcz (Mariacka Street 2), these two women saw the notification about my husband’s death in the concentration camp.
