My most memorable moment from the occupation

One autumn evening I went to bed. Suddenly I heard a terrible bang and my mother’s scream. I quickly got up, dressed and waited to see what would happen next. There was traffic in the streets; we all left our homes, and the planes made me even more afraid with their terrible whirring. At last they flew away, and I, still cowering and fearful, sat by the wall of the house. I thought that they would not come again and I would be able to sleep peacefully until morning, but I was wrong. The planes came back and started bombing again. It was a terrible moment for me. I will probably never forget that evening that I experienced, and many others. There were terrible moments during the occupation, but they are over and now I sleep peacefully. I am no longer afraid of planes.
